Compare

Choosing an indoor mapping platform, honestly.

Every vendor’s comparison page says they win. Ours does too, so here are the questions we’d ask in your position, including the ones where we’re not the obvious choice.

01Checklist

Seven questions for any vendor

  1. 01

Can I export everything, in open formats, on the plan I’m on?

Lock-in usually shows up at renewal. Check the export row on the cheapest plan, not the most expensive one.

  2. 02

Is accessible routing included, or an upgrade?

Step-free routes are a legal requirement in many places. They shouldn’t be a premium feature.

  3. 03

Does the map know about the outside world?

Visitors start in car parks, at stations and on other buildings’ doorsteps. Ask to see a route that starts outdoors.

  4. 04

Which drawings can I actually use?

Bring your worst floor plan to the demo: a scanned PDF, an old DWG or a Revit model.

  5. 05

How does live data get onto the map?

Nightly syncs are fine for tenant lists. Occupancy, bookings and incidents need real time.

  6. 06

Who keeps the map up to date?

Maps go stale within months of launch. Ask whether the vendor will maintain it for you or train your team to, and what each option costs.

  7. 07

Can my AI tools use it?

Assistants and copilots are becoming the front door for “where is…” questions. Ask about MCP and API scopes.

Bring your worst floor plan.

The quickest way to compare is to put the same building into both products. We’re happy to go first.
