Mapfloors vs MapsPeople

MapsPeople, based in Aalborg, Denmark, makes MapsIndoors, an indoor mapping platform that runs on top of Google Maps or Mapbox. Mapfloors takes a different approach: a GIS underneath, open exports on every plan, and floor plan changes your team can make itself or hand to ours.

To be fair

When MapsPeople might be the better fit

  • A Danish company with deep European roots, and a Google partner since 2009.
  • Close Google Maps ties, including purchase through Google Cloud Marketplace on your existing Google bill.
  • Scale: more than 550 enterprise customers and 25,000 buildings mapped, by its own count.
  • IMDF files prepared for Microsoft Places and kept in step with floor plan changes.
  • 3D models placed on the map, alongside 3D walls and extruded rooms, on the Mapbox engine.

Moving from another platform?

Mapfloors imports IMDF and GeoJSON, so maps you’ve already built don’t have to be redrawn.
